My Maiden Post

“Repetition is the language of Love: we never get tired of hearing I love you.”

— Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted

I think February is good a month to start a blog about love.... love of family, love of friends, love of the Rosary, love of Holy Mother Church. I never tire of my kids telling me of their love for Jesus, for Mary, for me and their daddy and for each other... I try to make a point to see the blessings in the little things and sometimes I get distracted with everyday cleaning, cooking and laundering, that I forget. That's me. I once read a book on how to be the best version of myself, I actually read it to my daughter. There's an adult version of it, and someday I hope to read it. But for now, I'll read this one to my daughter. She took it to heart, that girl. She wants to talk about her day (the good & the bad and how to make tomorrow better by being the best version of herself). I marvel at her hope. Her perseverance. I ponder the words of Jesus quite a bit when I listen to my kids... "become like little children". The faith of a child is no small thing. They believe with their whole heart that God is there and loves them unconditionally. All I want to do is help them nurture that into adulthood and not ruin it. I'm sure lots of parents want to do that. I'm shooting for the moon, so at the very least I will land among the stars.
